Position Overview
Big Minds, Tiny Hands is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Birth–2nd Grade Certification) to provide home-based Special Instruction services to children (birth–3) with developmental delays through the Early Intervention Program.
This is a fee-for-service position offering flexible scheduling and competitive rates, with the opportunity to work directly with children and families in their natural environment.
Responsibilities
• Provide Special Instruction services in the child’s home or community setting• Implement individualized strategies based on IFSP goals• Support cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and adaptive development• Use play-based and routine-based teaching approaches• Coach and support caregivers to carry over strategies at home• Complete session notes and progress reports in a timely manner
Qualifications
• NYS Certification in Special Education (Birth–2nd Grade) (required)• Experience working with young children (Early Intervention or preschool preferred)• Strong communication and organizational skills• Ability to work independently in home-based settings
