Duties
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence and health.
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual’s needs to encourage positive behaviors and social interactions.
- Support communication efforts using skills such as American Sign Language or other communication methods to facilitate effective interaction.
- Drive clients safely to appointments, activities, or community outings while maintaining their safety and comfort.
- Collect and document data related to progress, behaviors, medication administration, and daily routines to support ongoing care planning.
- Provide caregiving support in various settings including home environments and community locations, ensuring a nurturing atmosphere.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation for community outings and appointments.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
- Experience in home & community care settings or caregiving roles is desirable.
- Ability to perform data collection accurately and maintain detailed records related to care activities.
- Willingness to undergo training in medication administration, behavior support strategies, and safety protocols.
