Fairview is seeking a casual Obstetrician and Gynecologist to join our Women’s Health team to provide high-quality obstetric and gynecologic care in a collaborative, hospital-based environment alongside an experienced and supportive care team.
Responsibilities

Provides general patient care involving subjective and objective evaluation, assessment and formulation of a plan of care.

Prescribes or administers treatment as determined by the plan of care.

Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs

Consults with and make appropriate referral(s) to other health care providers in abnormal or unusual cases. Refers within the Fairview network.

Maintains the electronic medical record in accordance with Fairview standards and in accordance with licensure and scope.

Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical emergencies.

Serves as a patient advocate by maintaining patient confidentiality, protecting patient rights, communicating in a timely manner and resolving concerns or complaints regarding care and service.

Assists in the development of new policies, programs, procedures or techniques.

Participates in research, educational or other special projects or programs as needed.

Dedicates majority of time to providing quality patient care and service. Participates equitably in responsibilities of patient care in designated department.

May provide work direction to medical support and nursing staff in designated work unit.

Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management

Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows

Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training program

Board Certified/Board Eligible with the ABMS

Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure

Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota

Meet threshold criteria/qualification for Credentialing and Privileges
