Legion Management is an independent music management and publishing company working with artists, producers, and songwriters across all genres. The company operates across management, publishing, A&R, creative strategy, song placement, client development, and broader music business opportunities.
Role Summary
The candidate should have strong relationships and taste within contemporary R&B, hip-hop, urban, and pop music, with a particular emphasis on urban-adjacent culture and commercially relevant artists, songwriters, producers, managers, labels, publishers, and executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with artists, writers, producers, labels, publishers, managers, and executives.
- Generate creative opportunities for Legion clients, including sessions, placements, collaborations, and project opportunities.
- Source records, producers, writers, hooks, toplines, and creative ideas for active projects.
- Help identify potential signings, partnerships, and client opportunities.
- Support the company’s A&R strategy across management, publishing, and future opportunities.
- Attend sessions, meetings, showcases, events, and other industry-facing opportunities as needed.
- Communicate clearly with the CEO and internal team on opportunities, progress, priorities, and follow-ups.
- Track sessions, pitches, leads, holds, and active conversations.
- Take direction from leadership while bringing independent ideas, relationships, and execution.
- Help build a stronger, more consistent A&R process as the company scales.
Requirements
- 3-5 years experience working at a music publishing company
- Real relationships in the music industry.
- Experience in A&R, publishing, management, creative services, label work, or songwriter/producer relations.
- Strong taste and understanding of current music culture.
- Ability to make meaningful introductions and create opportunities.
- A track record of helping with placements, signings, sessions, releases, or artist/writer/producer development.
- Strong communication and follow-up.
- The ability to work in a fast-moving independent company.
- Enough experience to be impactful, but enough humility to take direction.
- A self-starter mentality without needing constant hand-holding.
- Strong understanding of R&B, hip-hop, pop, and/or urban-adjacent music.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
