MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- Working knowledge and understanding of the field of child development with specific application to the area of special education and related services;

Working knowledge of academic and functional instruction as defined by the school/center's population;

Strong communication and leadership skills to work collaboratively with administration, staff, students, and parents;

Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, and/or PowerPoint) and Google documents;
-
Ability to assist students with personal care/hygiene needs such as diapering, toilet training, handling clothing fasteners, bath rooming adolescents and young adults, and feeding students;

Ability to physically assist students, such as lifting, transferring, and other activities required to care for students with physical disabilities;
-
Ability to provide peer coaching on academic and behavioral strategies to support student academic achievement;
-
Ability to collaborate with administrators, teachers, and parents to implement effective classroom management strategies; and
-
Ability to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, administrators, school/district staff and other members of a diverse community.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma required; preferably supplemented with additional coursework and/or training in behavior intervention or special education. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with students with behavioral challenges required.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Holds or is eligible for the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
