Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Deckhand familiar with offshore fishing. This is a part time position working on a private 33 ft. center console. The Deckhand plays a vital role in ensuring that our fishing day runs smoothly. This position requires a combination of technical skills and a passion for the maritime environment.
Duties
- Assist with the daily operations of the vessel, including but not limited to: prepping the boat, cleaning the boat, rigging and securing equipment, running lines, prepping baits, catching bait, and cleaning fish.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the vessel is in optimal condition.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests/ family and addressing their needs throughout their journey.
- Assist in meal preparation and cooking, ensuring that all food safety standards are met.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of both interior and exterior spaces on the vessel.
- Support the captain and crew in navigation and safety procedures as needed.
- Participate in safety drills and adhere to all safety regulations while on board.
Requirements
- Proven experience or knowledge in rigging and mechanical systems is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality and guest satisfaction.
- Basic cooking skills with an understanding of food safety practices.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to vessel operations and maintenance.
