As a Painter at nVent Management Company, you will play a crucial role in preparing custom switchgear products and surfaces for flawless coating treatments and applications. This is an outstanding opportunity to work in a manufacturing role where your skills will contribute to crafting world-class products in our Oshkosh facility.
- Apply various types of paint using gravity feed, premix, 2KS, and Pressure Pot HVLP equipment.
- Use measuring equipment such as wet MIL thickness gauges, dry MIL thickness gauges, zahn cups, and carefully handle urethanes and epoxies.
- Follow verbal directions and written specifications to complete written production records and read blueprints accurately.
- Mask parts of components such as bearings, bushings, and rub strips that should not be painted.
- Perform daily cleaning and maintenance activities on all painting equipment to ensure efficient performance.
To excel in this role, you must be able to perform each essential duty exceptionally well. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for success.
- Regularly talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb ladders or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Perform painting tasks in a warm environment.
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience, required.
- At least one year of industrial paint experience is essential.
- A comparable mix of education and experience will be taken into account.
- Experience with a fast paced washer is a plus.
