The Role
This is a hybrid position. You will work the line as an evening cook and take ownership of monitoring meat on the smoker during your shift. This is not a role where you can coast — you’ll be trusted to manage multiple responsibilities at once, maintain quality without being reminded, and close the kitchen with the same care you opened it with.
SHIFT DETAILS
- Hours: 1 PM – 9:15 PM (restaurant closes at 8:00 PM; close takes approximately 45 minutes)
- Full-time: 5 days per week
- Pay: $17.00 – $20.00/hr based on experience + tip pool participation
What You’ll Do
- Execute line cook responsibilities during the evening service window
- Monitor and manage meat on the smoker throughout your shift
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and prep standards without direct supervision
- Hold the closing routine to standard — kitchen clean, stocked, and ready for the next day
- Communicate proactively with your team and flag issues before they become problems
- Operate as a full team member — no task is beneath you, no standard is optional
Who We’re Looking For

- Takes pride of ownership in their work — they hold their own standard, not just the one someone’s watching
- Has experience as a line cook, grill cook, or in a closing kitchen role (BBQ or pit experience a plus, not required)
- Can multitask and manage attention in a fast-paced, high-heat environment
- Brings a team-first attitude — helps without being asked, communicates without being pushed
- Is reliable — this is a small, intentional team; when you’re not here, everyone feels it
- Can stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work near heat
