IMMEDIATE OPENING for a Full-time Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to support the Travis Air Force Base, CA.
SPECIFIC TASKS
- Assists with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
- Must have understanding in specific orthopedic medical terminology.
- Performs central sterile supply duties.
- Ensures all equipment is properly assembled, operates, cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift. Ensures preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.
- Performs medical records reviews and applies appropriate protocols and guidelines to determine medical needs.
- Maintains patient medical records in electronic format as well as hard copy as required.
- Participates in training and continuing education programs for new procedures, techniques, and equipment.
- Create/modify/delete providers’ clinic schedules.
- Apply casts/splints on patients.
- Book/schedule patient appointments.
- Review referrals sent from outside clinics/facilities.
- Training with the electronic Surgical Booking (S3) system in order to schedule/add/remove orthopedic surgical patients.
Qualifications:
Certificate.
Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
Experience: Shall have practiced as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LVN) performing hands-on patient care in the outpatient clinical setting for at least 12 months within the past 24 months. Must have one (1) year of experience in an orthopedic clinical environment.
Licensure: Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.
