Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to optimize flow and comfort
- Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, providing information about wait times, reservations, and general inquiries
- Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate wait times clearly to guests
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth guest transitions and timely seating
- Uphold food safety standards by managing guest flow in accordance with health guidelines
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
Experience
- Prior experience as a host/hostess or in food service is highly preferred, demonstrating familiarity with restaurant operations and guest relations
- Experience with restaurant reservation management systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with guests and team members
- Proven organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests efficiently
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, wait times, and billing procedures when necessary
- Knowledge of food safety practices relevant to hospitality environments
- Hospitality or hotel experience is advantageous but not required; a passion for delivering excellent guest experiences is essential
