About the Role
Rivera Law Group is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to join our Personal Injury team in Houston, TX. This full-time, non-exempt position plays a key role in managing complex casework and supporting attorneys from intake through resolution. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a full caseload with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Manage personal injury case files from intake through settlement or litigation
- Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, demand letters, and settlement documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries for attorney review
- Organize and maintain medical records, billing records, and evidentiary documentation
- Communicate with clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel
- Track case deadlines, statutes of limitations, and court filing requirements
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and witness materials
- Support attorneys during depositions, mediations, hearings, and other proceedings
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior paralegals and support staff as needed
Qualifications
- Bilingual required (English/Spanish)
- Paralegal certificate or degree from an accredited program (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5+ years of paralegal experience, with significant personal injury case experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Texas civil procedure and personal injury litigation processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple case files and deadlines independently
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Schedule Full-time, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week. Non-exempt.
Office Location
Rivera Law Group is currently located at 1111 North Loop West, Suite 140, Houston, TX 77008. The firm will be relocating to 11011 Jones Road, Houston, TX by the end of 2026. Candidates should be comfortable with both the current location and the upcoming move.
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
