Townes at Hampden is new 146-unit townhomes rental community in the heart of Mechanicsburg. With continued growth on the horizon, we are looking to expand our team.
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper upkeep, repair, and maintenance of residential apartment communities. Your expertise will help create a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for residents and staff alike. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical skills across a broad range of maintenance tasks while contributing to a positive living experience for our residents.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), and mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using schematics, electrical equipment repair techniques, and tools such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct plumbing system maintenance and repairs, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and replacing fixtures.
- Maintain building interior spaces through painting, carpentry, drywall repairs, and general facilities maintenance.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to complete repairs efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Prepare vacated units for new residents (turnovers)
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls on a rotating on-call basis (no heat, water leaks, electrical outages, etc.)
- Maintain common areas and coordinate with the office on any resident-caused damage or violations
- Use Appfolio Property Management Software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and schedule future tasks.
- Support customer service efforts by communicating clearly with residents regarding maintenance requests and updates.
Experience
- Proven experience in residential or commercial property maintenance or related fields such as manufacturing or facilities management.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in electrical work, plumbing, HVAC system repair, welding, carpentry, and painting.
- Experience working with maintenance tools including hand tools, power tools, schematics reading, and testing devices like ohmmeters.
- Experience with software for work order management is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents and team members.

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
