Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Health Aide to provide exceptional in-home care to clients across diverse settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient well-being, with experience in assisting with daily activities, managing medical needs, and supporting individuals with various health conditions. As a Home Health Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for your clients by delivering personalized care, ensuring safety, and promoting independence within the comfort of their homes.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to inform healthcare providers.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions while maintaining compliance with home healthcare regulations.
- Support clients living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques and compassionate engagement.
- Provide catheter care, wound management, and hospice support to ensure comfort and safety during end-of-life care.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and family members to develop personalized care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while managing medical records and documentation.
Skills
- Proven experience in home healthcare or assisted living environments with a focus on geriatric or disabled populations.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and basic life support (BLS) or CPR certification.
- Excellent patient observation skills to identify changes in condition or behavior promptly.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs.
- Effective communication skills to interact empathetically with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of home & community care regulations and standards governing home health services.
- Compassionate caregiving approach combined with strong organizational skills for managing multiple clients efficiently.
- Flexibility to work live-in employment arrangements or short-term assignments as needed.
