Communications Coordinator
Reports To: Pastor
Position Summary
The Communications Coordinator is a part-time position responsible for supporting parish communications through digital media, print materials, social media, and event promotion. This role helps communicate the mission and activities of the parish in a clear, engaging and professional manner. While responsible for the day-to-day communications of the parish, the Communications Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Outreach Coordinator. The position may also entail assisting the Pastor in the production of social media and other content for campus ministry work conducted outside the parish.
The position averages approximately 15–18 hours per week, including occasional evening and weekend hours to support parish events and activities.
Essential Responsibilities
Parish Communications & Media
- Coordinate parish communications across digital and print platforms, including: Parish website, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Flocknote, and other communication channels as assigned
- Create and publish content promoting parish ministries, liturgies, events, and community activities.
- Take photographs and video at parish events for use in parish communications and archives.
- Maintain an organized archive of parish photos, videos, graphics, and communication materials.
Website & Digital Content
- Assist with ongoing maintenance and updates to the parish website.
- Update website content regularly to ensure information remains current and accurate.
- Support future website enhancements and improvements as needed.
Parish Communications Support
- Create and produce the weekly parish bulletin.
- Design promotional materials for parish ministries, programs, and special events.
- Prepare newsletters, announcements, email communications, and parish mailings.
- Maintain outgoing voicemail and recorded phone messages as needed.
- Assist in maintaining the parish calendar of events and communication schedules.
Flocknote Support
- Coordinate parish communications through Flocknote.
- Assist parish staff and ministry leaders with basic training and support related to Flocknote usage.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of graphic design principles and digital communications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common communication tools.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and website content management systems.
- Strong attention to detail in both language and visual presentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with parish staff and volunteers.
- Appreciation for and respect toward the teachings, traditions, and mission of the Roman Catholic Church.
Qualifications
- Experience or coursework in communications, graphic design, marketing, media, or a related field preferred.
- Experience managing websites, social media, and printed communications preferred.
- Photography, videography, and content creation experience a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to move throughout parish facilities, including stairs.
- Occasional lifting of materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.

Hours: Approximately 15–18 hours per week
Classification: Part-Time / Non-Exempt
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
