Performs tasks working as a trainee acquiring the skills necessary in the delivery and manipulation of electricity.
Under direct supervision of a licensed Journeyman Electrician, provides manpower while acquiring the knowledge, pre-requisite skills and proficiency in the work methods necessary for the proper construction and maintenance of residential, commercial or industrial electric systems.
Must possess the aptitude, manual dexterity and willingness to perform tasks on electrical equipment and devices while elevated above the ground, in confined spaces and in noisy environments.
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent. Position requirement ranges from entry level to 3 years of experience working on residential, commercial or industrial electric systems.
Valid Texas Class B Commercial Drivers License or ability to acquire license and/or endorsements within 90 days of employment.
General to specific knowledge of working on equipment and devices typically found in the delivery and manipulation of electricity.
Ability to function as part of a highly skilled team.
Experience with a variety of hand and power tools.
Ability to comprehend and implement safety measures at the work site.
Work is performed inside and outside in varying temperatures and conditions while exposed to electrical and other hazards.
Position requires the ability to read and perform basic mathematical computations. The position also requires the ability to clearly and coherently communicate using a verbal and written form of the English language.
