About the Role: Wisdom RecruitmentS is pleased to partner with a leading healthcare facility to find a dynamic, strategic, and people-first People Services Director.
Serving as the senior HR leader for the hospital and a trusted advisor to the CEO, you will align workforce strategies with business goals, drive organizational culture, and lead a high-performing HR team.
Key Responsibilities:
➤ Strategic Leadership: Serve as a core strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team, partnering with organizational leaders to align workforce strategies with operational goals.
➤ Labor & Employee Relations: Oversee labor relations activities, manage grievance processes, prepare for arbitrations, and lead or participate in union negotiations and collective bargaining agreement administrations.
➤ Talent & Culture: Direct recruitment, workforce planning, onboarding, and retention efforts. Lead employee engagement, succession planning, and culture transformation initiatives.
➤ HR Operations & Compliance: Manage day-to-day operations ensuring total compliance with employment laws, healthcare regulations, and HR audits. Oversee leaves of absence, documentation, and policy administration.
➤ Team & Budget Management: Supervise, coach, and develop HR team members. Create and manage departmental budgets and HR-related expenditures.
➤ Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze workforce metrics and trends to build actionable plans that improve engagement and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferably in HR, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field).
Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR leadership experience.
Disciplinary Expertise: Proven experience leading HR functions across employee relations, compliance, recruitment, and performance management.
Leadership: Demonstrated success in supervising HR staff, coaching senior leaders, and managing complex investigations.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
- Acute care hospital or healthcare system leadership experience (strongly preferred, ideally with 100+ employees).
- Direct union experience (handling multi-union environments, handling grievances, and bargaining agreements).
- Professional HR Certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR).
- Experience in rural healthcare environments.
