We are the Provider for a young man between the ages of 25-35 that is a joy to support. The Individual would like a Male DSP/DCP that can act as a Companion and Mentor.

Working with SCS will offer the prospect of delivering heartfelt, quality and supportive services to individuals with sustained needs. SCS is a statewide provider which affords our staff the possibility of working near or within their surrounding area based on business and client needs. (Our primary target area is Philadelphia county and the surrounding counties of Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware)
SCS is currently looking to contract a Direct Care/ Support Professional as an Independent Contractor in the Philadelphia, PA and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities:
- Coach, model and assist in the area of Independent Living Skills (such as, house chores and activities, assisting with shopping and completing errands) specific to the individual’s needs
- Coach, model and assist in the development and/or enhancement of Personal Care (such as, ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) grooming and general hygiene management), specific to the individual’s needs
- Promote and assist with developing or maintaining healthy fellowship and social engagement
- Provide safety, oversight and supervision specific to individual’s needs
- Habilitation and support activities that foster improvement of, or facilitate, the person’s ability to perform daily living activities;
- Promote, coach and model appropriate social interaction and communication
- Promote and support engagement in the community with peers and/or participation in social groups.
- Facilitate and implement interventions to reduce the demonstration of at-risk behaviors while promoting positive replacement behaviors.
- Accompany individual to facilitate their employment opportunities and participation in community activities.
Qualifications/Experience:
- 2+ year(s) of experience in working with Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental disAbilities (Professional and/or Caretaker/giver experience is Welcomed)
- A GED/HS Diploma
- State Issued Identification and/or Driver's License (DL Preferred but not required)
- State Required Clearances (Criminal Clearance, FBI Clearance as well as additional Clearances mandated by the Office of Developmental Programs/State/Federal Regulations)
- First Aid and CPR Certification (Preferred but can be scheduled Upon Hire)
- Access to a Registered/Insured Vehicle (Preferred but not Necessary)
