Overview:
As a High-End Wine, Spirits, and Craft Beer Shop Retail Associate, you will be an integral part of our team, providing exceptional customer service and expertise in assisting our clientele with their selection of premium beverages. Your passion for and knowledge of fine wines, spirits, and craft beers will help elevate the shopping experience for our customers. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a dedication to maintaining the high standards of our establishment.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Assistance: Assist customers in selecting wines, spirits, and craft beers based on their preferences, occasions, and budgets. Provide personalized recommendations and advice on pairings, tasting notes, and gift selections.
- Product Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest trends, vintages, and offerings in the wine, spirits, and craft beer industries. Educate customers on the unique characteristics of different products, including regions, varietals, production methods, and flavor profiles.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, replenish stock, and ensure products are accurately labeled and displayed. Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in the ordering process to maintain adequate supply levels of popular items.
- Customer Engagement: Foster relationships with customers through attentive service, genuine interactions, and follow-up communication. Engage with customers during tastings, events, and promotions to promote brand loyalty and encourage repeat business.
- Operational Support: Assist with daily store operations, including cashier duties, opening and closing procedures, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the store. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and compliance with alcohol regulations.
- Sales and Upselling: Drive sales by actively promoting featured products, upselling premium selections, and recommending complementary items such as glassware, accessories, and gourmet snacks. Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the business.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and welcoming atmosphere in the store. Share knowledge, best practices, and feedback to support the professional development of the team and enhance the customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or a related field, with a focus on wine, spirits, or craft beer preferred.
- Strong passion for and knowledge of fine wines, spirits, and craft beers, including familiarity with different regions, varietals, and production techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage customers in a friendly and approachable manner.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable shopping experiences.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities and customer preferences.
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and comply with all legal requirements for selling alcohol.
