Duties
- Assist with food production and meal preparation in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
- Serve meals to residents with professionalism, kindness, and attention to individual dietary needs
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, dining areas, and food handling stations through regular sanitation and cleaning procedures
- Support food safety protocols by properly handling, storing, and labeling food items
- Buss tables, clear trays, and ensure dining areas are tidy before, during, and after meal service
- Help with food inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of shortages or needs
- Follow all sanitation regulations to uphold a safe environment for residents and staff
Requirements
- Previous experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices
- Strong time management skills to efficiently support meal times and kitchen operations
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting trays or supplies, and cleaning duties
- Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents and team members
- Familiarity with food preparation, serving techniques, and kitchen equipment is advantageous
- Experience in dietary department functions or culinary experience is a plus but not required
