Advance Rural Oral Healthcare Through Business Intelligence and Performance Reporting

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Dental Business & Reporting Analyst to support the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). In this role, you will provide business analysis, financial and operational reporting, performance monitoring, and program evaluation to help participating rural dental organizations achieve transformation goals and demonstrate measurable outcomes.
The Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) is designed to strengthen rural oral healthcare through practice transformation, quality improvement, workforce development, financial sustainability, and expanded access to care.
Position Summary
The Dental Business & Reporting Analyst is responsible for analyzing business, operational, financial, and quality performance across participating dental organizations. This position develops executive reports, dashboards, and performance analyses that support program leadership, Dental Transformation Success Managers, and participating providers in making informed decisions and meeting RHTP objectives.
The analyst serves as a key resource for program reporting, grant compliance, business intelligence, performance measurement, and continuous improvement, ensuring accurate, timely, and meaningful reporting to internal leadership, participating organizations, and funding agencies.
Essential Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Operational Performance
- Analyze operational, financial, and clinical performance of participating dental organizations.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve productivity, patient access, financial sustainability, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate business processes and recommend workflow improvements that support practice transformation.
- Assist leadership in developing strategies that improve organizational performance and long-term sustainability.
- Conduct business assessments and support implementation of operational improvement initiatives.
Performance Reporting
- Develop, maintain, and distribute executive dashboards, scorecards, and key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports for program leadership and funding agencies.
- Monitor organizational progress toward RHTP goals, milestones, and contractual deliverables.
- Develop standardized reporting templates and reporting procedures across participating organizations.
- Prepare presentations and performance summaries for executive leadership, advisory committees, and external stakeholders.
Financial & Business Intelligence
- Analyze revenue cycle, productivity, patient utilization, payer mix, scheduling, and financial performance indicators.
- Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and business planning activities.
- Evaluate operational and financial impacts of practice transformation initiatives.
- Assist organizations in identifying opportunities to improve reimbursement, efficiency, and resource utilization.
- Support readiness for value-based payment models and alternative reimbursement strategies.
Program Reporting & Compliance
- Coordinate program reporting requirements for federal, state, and grant-funded initiatives.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of required reports and supporting documentation.
- Maintain reporting databases and documentation supporting program compliance.
- Validate submitted data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
- Support internal audits and continuous quality improvement activities.
Data Visualization & Decision Support
- Design dashboards and interactive reports using business intelligence tools.
- Translate complex business and performance data into actionable recommendations.
- Develop executive summaries that communicate program outcomes and organizational performance.
- Support strategic planning through predictive analysis and performance forecasting.
- Provide analytical support for special projects and program evaluations.
Collaboration & Technical Assistance
- Partner with Dental Transformation Success Managers to monitor organizational progress and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with dental practices, FQHCs, public health agencies, and community partners to improve reporting processes.
- Provide technical assistance related to performance reporting, business analytics, and operational benchmarking.
- Train participating organizations on reporting tools, dashboards, and interpretation of performance metrics.
- Participate in statewide learning collaboratives, leadership meetings, and program improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Public Health, Finance, Accounting, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Three to five years of experience in healthcare business analysis, financial reporting, healthcare administration, grant reporting, or performance management.
- Experience preparing executive reports and performance dashboards.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience interpreting financial, operational, and quality performance data.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines and priorities.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), Health Informatics, or a related field.
- Experience working with dental practices, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), rural healthcare organizations, or public health programs.
- Knowledge of dental practice operations, revenue cycle management, value-based payment models, and healthcare quality reporting.
- Experience supporting federally or state-funded healthcare initiatives.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous quality improvement methodologies.

- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
- Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) (preferred)
