Position Summary
KBF by Audi Design is seeking a Senior Sales Designer to lead design and drive sales for our whole-home remodeling, luxury kitchen, bath, and addition projects. This is a senior-level, client-facing role for a designer who brings established industry relationships, a strong personal client base, sound technical judgment, and a proven ability to close. The right person owns the client relationship end to end, from the first conversation through retainer, design sessions, signed contract, and handoff to our construction team, translating client vision into precise 3D renderings, material specifications, and a signed deal.
This role sits at the intersection of design expertise and sales performance. Mastery of Chief Architect and 2020 Design is required, and so is the ability to run a discovery call, present a proposal with confidence, and close at KBF's investment levels.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Closing
- Own the full sales pipeline: Intake Call, Discovery Call, In-Home Consultation, Proposal Presentation, Retainer Signed, Design Sessions, and Contract Signed.
- Present proposals and close residential remodeling projects at KBF's investment levels, approximately $40,000 and up.
- Meet or exceed individual sales, retainer close rate, and monthly signing pace goals.
- Guide clients through investment levels, options, and timelines with clarity and confidence.
- Develop new business through referrals, repeat clients, and an established personal network.
Client Relationships & Client Base
- Bring an existing, active base of clients, referral sources, or industry contacts that can be converted into near-term pipeline.
- Maintain and grow a network of trade, vendor, and referral contacts that support both project sourcing and sales pipeline growth.
- Serve as the single point of contact for the client from first inquiry through construction handoff.
Design & Rendering
- Create high-quality, production-ready 3D renderings and floor plans in Chief Architect and 2020 Design.
- Guide clients through layout options and material selections during design sessions.
- Select cabinetry layouts, fixtures, finishes, and appliances, leveraging established vendor and trade relationships to secure favorable pricing and lead times.
Preconstruction & Handoff
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure designs align with accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare and manage preconstruction information: defined scope of work, preliminary drawings, selections and allowances, and pricing.
- Provide detailed, error-free plan sets to the in-house build team for construction handoff.
Required Qualifications
- Software Expertise: Mastery of Chief Architect and 2020 Design is strictly required.
- Established Client Base: A current, active book of clients and/or referral relationships that can be brought into KBF's pipeline.
- Sales Track Record: Demonstrated success generating, presenting, and closing sales in a consultative, client-facing environment.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 5+ years in residential remodeling, kitchen/bath design, or design-build environments, with a track record of leading design on high-end projects.
- Established Trade Contacts: An existing network of vendor, trade, and industry contacts (cabinetry, fixtures, finishes, appliances).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of wood-frame construction, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) basics, and building codes.
- Availability: Must be ready to start immediately.
- Work Authorization: Must provide documentation establishing identity and eligibility to work in the United States, as required by federal law.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Technology, or a related field.
- Design-build remodeling experience with luxury residential projects.
- Experience running discovery calls and proposal presentations in a high-end, consultative sales process.
- Comfort with CRM tracking (Buildertrend) for pipeline and client management.
Virginia Requirements
