About the Company:
A growing commercial carrier is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dispatcher to oversee operations at its Albany, NY location.
With multiple terminal locations in the Northeast, the company is committed to excellence in logistics and customer experience.
Position Overview:
The position is responsible for assisting all aspects of the Albany terminal, including dispatching, dock operations, route planning, and coordinating third-party fleet maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily terminal operations, including truck and trailer loading/unloading
- Plan and dispatch efficient delivery routes
- Maintain facility and equipment with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Coordinate routine fleet maintenance with external vendors
- Utilize dispatch management systems and generate accurate manifests
- Ensure high-quality service delivery and compliance with all safety standards
Required Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Forklift operation and dock safety knowledge
- Proficiency with dispatch software and Microsoft Office
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with route optimization and logistics planning
