Summary
This position is part-time, 0 to 3 days a week on a per diem basis and is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of all customers, personnel, and property at one of company’s three dispensary facilities licensed by the State of Delaware under its Medical And Recreational Marijuana Program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
● Implement and enforce policies and procedures relating to facility safety and security;
● Monitor facility interior and exterior to deter and address conditions and conduct that pose a risk to safety or property or breaches company safety and security standards;
● Protect products and property from criminal diversion, theft, fire and loss;
● Investigate, document and report accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and ensure Company’s compliance with state security regulations;
● Mitigate and de-escalate risky behaviors and communicate sensitively with patients and staff in all necessary interactions;
● Train staff regarding state safety and security regulations and procedures; and
● Perform such other duties as may be assigned by Security Manager and/or General Manager.
Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
Preferred:
● Prior experience as sworn law enforcement professional or military service;
● Prior experience in security capacity for state-licensed marijuana business;
Required:
Candidates must:
● Hold and maintain Delaware security guard license with a firearms (“Red Card”) endorsement;
● Possess and maintain their own Delaware-licensed handgun to be carried for job duties as directed;
● Bachelor’s Degree;
● Delaware residency;
● State and company background clearances;
● Ability to promptly gain working knowledge and implement detailed security standards in highly regulated industry;
● Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, regulators and invitees in furtherance of duties.

Physical Demands: Ability to sit, bend, and stand as necessary. Work is performed inside and outside the property with exposure to inclement weather and potential crisis situations.
