Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Medical Surgical LPN/LVN for a Discharge Lounge setting. The ideal candidate must be comfortable managing their own patient assignment with RN support while providing safe, high-quality care to adult medical patients. Recent acute care experience and EPIC charting experience are required.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, intake/output, and patient condition.
- Administer medications via oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear, and eye routes.
- Perform blood glucose monitoring and IV therapy using infusion pumps.
- Assist with oxygen therapy, feeding tube care, Foley catheter insertion, specimen collection, and wound care.
- Monitor telemetry and perform 12-lead EKGs.
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC.
- Communicate patient status changes to the RN and physician.
- Float to other units within scope of practice as needed.
Requirements
- Active New York State LPN License (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Acute Care Medical Surgical experience
- Ability to independently manage patient assignments with RN support
- EPIC charting experience required
