The Job: We are seeking enthusiastic instructors who specialize in tutoring math and language arts at the elementary and middle school levels. Comfort with classes like Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and/or Biology are a bonus. Core competencies with teaching the subject to children aged 5 to 14 are the priority.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Coaching and guiding students to meet their academic goals
- Tutoring multiple subjects effectively
- Strengthening students’ study habits and identifying how each student learns best
- Motivating students
- Working with up to three students at a time
- Being engaging, flexible, and professional
- Keeping records of tutoring sessions
- Attending team meetings and other Tutoring Club events
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university (or currently enrolled in a degree program with at least one year completed)
- 1+ years of previous tutoring experience (previous teaching experience is not required, but is a plus)
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work the following: Monday through Thursday from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm and Saturday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm
- Ability to commit to one year with Tutoring Club
