About the Role:
As a Medical Billing Assistant at IBH, you will play a key role in supporting our billing operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims, and providing exceptional service to our patients and providers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; coursework or degree in a related field preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in medical billing or healthcare administration (preferred)
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT coding, and insurance billing practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and professional demeanor
- High energy, self-motivated, and driven to excel in a team-based environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance carriers
- Verify patient insurance benefits before appointments or procedures
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve discrepancies
- Post payments from patients and insurance providers in the billing system
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records
- Communicate with patients regarding account balances and payment options
- Perform administrative duties including data entry, filing, and generating reports
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and administrative staff
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting pay: $15–$17/hour, based on experience
