Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Teacher will plan the daily program for preschool age children. Performs a variety of instructional and clerical duties in the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and services for children 2 to 4 years of age.
- Collect skill samples in accordance with state Desired Results forms, for use in children’s assessments, evaluations and activity plans.
- Perform a variety of clerical duties involved in daily attendance, meal counts, and others.
- Perform housekeeping tasks and maintain a safe, clean, and healthy learning environment that is inviting and supportive of ethnic, cultural and family diversity; maintain, and store equipment and supplies used in the course of daily activities.
- Set-up and maintain physical environments in accordance with the state standards, Environmental Rating Scales, adapting to the current needs and interest of children; assist in planning, evaluating and setting up of the indoor and outdoor learning environments.
- Adhere to the agency’s policies in health education and physical activity education and provide a curriculum accordingly.
- Participate in staff meetings, staff development activities and workshops. Attend agency safety training.
- Communicate in English effectively both orally and in writing.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Candidate must have Teacher permit
