As a 1099 Fitness Instructor, you'll have the opportunity to inspire residents to stay active, improve their overall well-being, and build lasting connections through engaging and rewarding fitness programs.
We are seeking an instructor who brings energy, professionalism, and a genuine passion for working with older adults.
Duties:
- Lead fun, safe, and engaging group fitness classes for senior residents
- Encourage participation and foster a welcoming, supportive environment
- Modify exercises to accommodate varying fitness levels, mobility limitations, and individual needs
- Promote overall health, wellness, and active aging
- Arrive prepared and maintain a professional, positive presence during all classes
Position Details
- 1099 independent contractor role
- Compensation: $45.00 per class hour
- Schedule: 2–4 classes per week
- Rotating Saturdays required
- Flexible part-time opportunity
- Consistent class schedule with the potential for additional classes and special events
We are looking for individuals who possess:
- Current Zumba Instructor Certification and/or Group Exercise (GX) Certification
- Experience teaching fitness classes to seniors or active older adults
- Strong communication and motivational skills
- Ability to adapt class formats to meet participant needs
- Dependable, organized, and enthusiastic personality
- Ability to commit to 2-4 fitness classes per week with rotating Saturdays.
- CPR/AED certification preferred
- Previous group fitness instruction experience preferred
- Knowledge of senior fitness principles and exercise modifications is a plus
- You must possess a valid Group X certification, Zumba certification and hold your own liability insurance.
