We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder specializing in MIG welding to join our manufacturing and fabrication shop in Lugoff, SC.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing high-quality welds on various metal materials, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on a variety of metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, following detailed blueprints and technical specifications.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing instructions to ensure precise fabrication.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math skills to verify dimensions and tolerances before welding.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Other welds can be Brazing, Spin Rivet Spin, Nut Welding
- Maintain quality standards by inspecting welds for defects using calipers, measuring instruments, and visual assessment in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols on construction sites or fabrication shops to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Assist in the setup of welding equipment, including calibration of measuring devices and preparation of metal materials for fabrication.
Requirements
- Proven experience in metal fabrication or welding environments with a focus on MIG welding
- Proficiency in reading mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and interpreting manufacturing specifications.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques including FCAW, SMAW, GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), and TIG welding.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math for precise measurements.
- Knowledge of safety protocols specific to welding operations and construction environments.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced manufacturing or construction settings.
- Commitment to quality workmanship aligned with AWS standards and best practices.
Hours: 7a-4p
Pay: $22-$25 (DOE and Weld Test Results)
