Our programs include Multisystemic Therapy (MST), Intensive In-Home (IIH), School-Based Therapy (SBT), Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCA), and other community-based behavioral health services.
We are seeking a dynamic, clinically strong, and operationally minded Clinical Supervisor to provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for our clinical programs.
Position Summary
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the clinical integrity, quality assurance, compliance, and performance of behavioral health services across the organization. This role provides direct supervision and support to clinical supervisors, ensures compliance with Medicaid and MCO requirements, oversees utilization management processes, and drives continuous quality improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who can balance clinical excellence with operational efficiency while developing staff, improving outcomes, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Essential Responsibilities Clinical Leadership
- Provide leadership and oversight for all clinical programs and services.
- Supervise Clinical Supervisors, Program Supervisors, and other designated clinical staff.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with medical necessity criteria, service definitions, and evidence-based practices.
- Review and approve clinical assessments, treatment plans, and other clinical documentation as required.
- Support staff in clinical decision-making, case conceptualization, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.
- Promote a culture of accountability, clinical excellence, and professional development.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Oversee clinical quality assurance processes, including chart audits and documentation reviews.
- Ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations, MCO requirements, service definitions, and NC DHHS standards.
- Monitor clinical documentation timeliness, accuracy, and quality.
- Lead preparation efforts for audits, accreditation surveys, and external reviews.
- Ensure corrective action plans are implemented and monitored when deficiencies are identified.
Program Operations
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures.
- Monitor program outcomes, productivity metrics, and key performance indicators.
- Assist with program development, expansion, and implementation of new services.
- Participate in strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and professional development efforts.
Staff Development & Supervision
- Conduct regular supervision meetings with clinical leaders.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and strengths-based work environment.
Community & Stakeholder Relations
- Build and maintain positive relationships with referral sources, schools, community partners, MCOs, and other stakeholders.
- Represent NC Health Partners at community meetings, provider forums, and professional events.
- Support outreach and partnership development efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field.
- Active North Carolina clinical licensure required:
- LCSW
- LCMHC
- LMFT
- Licensed Psychologist
- Minimum of 5 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in behavioral health services.
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid-funded behavioral health services and documentation requirements.
- Experience with clinical quality assurance, audits, and compliance monitoring.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience overseeing MST, IIH, Family-Centered Treatment, School-Based Therapy, or similar community-based services.
- Experience with Joint Commission accreditation standards.
- Experience working with multiple Managed Care Organizations (Alliance, Partners, Trillium, Vaya, etc.).
- Experience leading multi-site behavioral health programs.
- Strong utilization management and authorization experience.
