Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Clinical Support & Client Care
Facilitate therapeutic groups under supervision, including CBTbased skills, DBT skills
training, psychoeducation, relapseprevention, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and
recoveryoriented content.
Provide structured skills coaching, behavioral support, and motivational engagement
within scope of practice.
Assist with intake, orientation, and gathering biopsychosocial information under licensed
supervision.
Conduct client checkins, monitor behavioral presentation, and document observations
relevant to treatment progress and safety.
Support clients in developing coping strategies, safety plans, and treatment engagement.
Provide crisis support within program guidelines and immediately escalate risk concerns
to licensed staff in accordance with California dutytoprotect standards.
Documentation & Compliance
Complete timely, accurate documentation including:
o Group participation notes
o Case management notes
o Collateral contact logs
o Daily behavioral observations
Ensure documentation meets internal quality standards and supports medical necessity for
PHP/IOP levels of care.
Maintain compliance with:
o California DHCS behavioral health documentation standards
o HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
o Assure Recovery Center policies and privatepay requirements
Participate in chart audits, qualityassurance reviews, and continuous improvement
initiatives.
Care Coordination
Assist with coordination of care between clients, families (when appropriate), external
providers, and community resources.
Support discharge planning by gathering collateral information, scheduling followup
appointments, and preparing transition materials.
Communicate client needs, risk factors, and progress to licensed clinicians and
multidisciplinary team members.
Program Support
Contribute to curriculum delivery, group materials preparation, and daily program flow.
Assist with attendance tracking, client engagement monitoring, and operational tasks.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development aligned with
dualdiagnosis care and California standards.

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, human services, behavioral science, or
related field.
Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or dualdiagnosis
settings.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow clinical directives.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support clients with compassion and
professionalism.
Competence in documentation, electronic health records, and structured clinical
communication.
Understanding of traumainformed care principles and recoveryoriented treatment models.
Ability to work under supervision of licensed clinical staff in accordance with California
scopeofpractice requirements.
Preferred
Experience in PHP/IOP or higher levels of care.
Familiarity with CBT, DBT skills, MI, and relapseprevention frameworks.
Experience working with cooccurring disorders.
Bilingual proficiency (Spanish preferred).
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and facilitate client interactions for extended periods.
Ability to move between group rooms, offices, and common areas as needed.
Work performed in a clinical setting with moderate noise levels.
