The Training & Development Specialist supports Technical Training and Employee Development initiatives through learning administration, facilitation, communication, and reporting activities that help employees develop skills, progress in their careers, and support business objectives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience as a trainer, mentor, coach, or subject matter expert preferred
- Ability to facilitate engaging instructor-led training and professional development sessions for adult learners
- Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS) and/or analyzing training metrics preferred
- Highly self-directed; able to work independently, meet deadlines and implement objectives effectively
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability and willingness to travel to branch locations and training sites as required (up to 10%).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Remain current on industry trends, supplier technologies, and best practices to support training programs and employee development initiatives.
- Maintain the Learning Management System (LMS), including transcript management, course administration, and development plan updates.
- Facilitate instructor-led technical, professional development, and soft skills training programs for technicians, emerging leaders, and other employees as assigned.
- Support communication and administration of development plans and career progression initiatives.
- Collect, maintain, and analyze training metrics and KPIs, including training completion rates, apprentice progression, and training satisfaction scores to evaluate program effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
- Consult with department and branch management, employees, and customers to identify skill gaps and continuous learning opportunities.
- Serve as liaison between Company personnel and factory training contacts regarding training programs, requirements, and issues.
- Maintain and control training department service tooling used in classes and coordinate associated ordering needs.
- Provide technical information and training-related support to company departments, customers, and vocational schools as requested.
- Foster teamwork throughout the Training Department through support of other members of the department when needed or requested.
- Project a positive image by interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner; display a professional attitude; comply with company dress code.
- Follow all work, safety rules, and procedures.
- Assist work team to meet the objectives of the department and the Company.
- Perform other duties as necessary and required.
