Job Posting: Preschool Spanish Teacher
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Spanish Teacher for our preschool program. This part-time position requires working 3 days per week, from 8:30 AM to 1:05 PM.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an engaging, age-appropriate Spanish curriculum for preschoolers.
Lead interactive Spanish activities, including songs, movement, games, stories, simple vocabulary, conversation, and cultural learning experiences.
Foster an early love for language learning while supporting listening skills, confidence, memory, creative expression, and classroom participation.
Introduce children to basic Spanish vocabulary, phrases, greetings, colors, numbers, animals, music, movement, and age-appropriate cultural connections.
Collaborate with fellow educators to integrate Spanish language learning into the overall preschool curriculum.
Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures children’s confidence, curiosity, and joy in learning a new language.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred.
Fluency or strong proficiency in Spanish required.
Passion for teaching Spanish and engaging young children through songs, stories, games, and movement.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred but not required.
Ability to create a warm, playful, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.

Independent Presbyterian Church Day School
Independent Presbyterian Church Day School serves as a ministry of the church to provide a positive preschool experience for IPC families and the larger Birmingham community.
Day School Hours of Operation
Regular School Year: Monday-Friday from 9 AM-1 PM
The school calendar runs from late August to mid-May.
Serves children ages 6 months through 5-year-old classes, with age requirements met by September 1st.
Summer APPLE Program
Tuesday-Thursday from 9 AM-1 PM
Six weekly sessions during June/July
Serves children ages 6 months, as of June 1, through completed 5K, with age requirements met by September 1 for 18-month Toddlers through 5K classes.

Some physical demands of this position include participating in carpool, moving safely from floor to standing, and actively engaging with children in classroom language activities.
