Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices all over the country. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Duct Installer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining ductwork systems that ensure optimal airflow and air quality within residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical systems, construction practices, and HVAC principles. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to projects that improve indoor environments while developing technical expertise across various building systems.
Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install ductwork according to project specifications and schematics.
- Interpret HVAC design plans, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate installation.
- Connect duct systems to heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical components.
- Seal joints and connections to prevent leaks and ensure energy efficiency.
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other electrical testing equipment to troubleshoot system issues.
- Collaborate with service technicians on system repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Operate welding equipment and perform mechanical repairs on duct components as needed.
- Assist in the installation of building automation systems related to HVAC control.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants and ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Maintain detailed records of installation procedures, materials used, and system configurations.
- Conduct routine inspections of installed ductwork for integrity and performance.
Qualifications
- Proven construction experience with a focus on HVAC or mechanical systems installation.
- Service technician experience in HVAC/R or related fields is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design principles.
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical diagnostics, refrigeration systems, and building automation controls.
- Mechanical knowledge including equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and property maintenance.
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R are advantageous.
- Experience using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on maintenance and repair of complex systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
