Entry-Level Residential Construction Draftsman / CAD Drafter
PESCO Engineering LLC is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Residential Construction Draftsman / CAD Drafter to join our growing engineering team.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate, drafting student, CAD technician, or entry-level professional with working knowledge of Tekla who wants to build a career in residential structural engineering.
You will work directly with a licensed Professional Engineer preparing permit-ready residential construction drawings throughout Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Prepare residential construction drawings and structural repair sketches.
- Draft floor plans, framing plans, foundation plans, roof framing plans, elevations, and construction details.
- Use Tekla for structural drafting, detailing, and project documentation.
- Convert engineer markups, field measurements, photographs, and sketches into construction drawings.
- Revise drawings based on engineer, contractor, and jurisdiction comments.
- Maintain organized project files and drawing sets.
- Assist with occasional field measurements and site documentation.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, homeowners, and office staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Tekla (Required).
- Drafting, CAD, construction, or engineering education preferred.
- Ability to read or learn residential construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license preferred.

Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
- Residential construction drawings
- Structural drafting
- Wood framing
- AutoCAD
- Revit
- Bluebeam
- Field measuring
- Permit drawing packages
Schedule
This position may be full-time or part-time.
Full-time candidates should be available during standard business hours, Monday through Friday.
Part-time candidates should have reliable weekly availability and the ability to meet project deadlines.
Some schedule flexibility may be available depending on experience and workload.
Work Location
This position is primarily office-based. Occasional site visits may be required to assist with field measurements, as-built documentation, or coordination with the engineer.
Most projects are located throughout the Georgia region.
