Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote early childhood education principles, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and respect among children.
- Manage classroom activities efficiently through effective classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Support children's development through individualized child development instruction and tailored interventions for children with special education needs or requiring early intervention services.
- Plan and execute lesson plans that align with educational standards such as Montessori or other early childhood frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting incidents or concerns related to child welfare.
- Foster strong communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment adhering to daycare safety protocols and health regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management strategies, and student assessments.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to childhood development, standardized testing preparation, or preschool teaching methodologies.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings or similar environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management for young children.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, including toddler care and early intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with special education practices and behavior management techniques tailored for early learners.
- Experience teaching physical education or literacy education to preschool or kindergarten students is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Experience working within Montessori or other specialized early childhood education frameworks is a plus.
- Ability to adhere to mandated reporting laws and maintain confidentiality regarding student information.
