POSITION SUMMARY
As a Sales Associate at Nickey Kehoe, you will greet and assist clients with a strong focus on delivering an exceptional hospitality experience in line with the Nickey Kehoe mission. You will encourage client engagement with our merchandise by offering outstanding customer service, always sharing the stories behind our makers and artists, as well as providing insights into our NK Collection.
In addition, you will quickly respond to client inquiries via email and support the sales process using our POS system. You will also assist with order processing and tracking as required. The Sales Associate is service-oriented, adaptable, courteous, and conscientious in their work, providing a seamless and enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Greet and graciously assist clients with focused attention to creating a high-end customer experience sharing the stories of our makers and artists.
- Initiate genuine conversation to engage with the customer in a personalized way where all customers feel welcome, heard, and valued.
- Maintains Nickey Kehoe's visual and operational standards while keeping the focus on the customer; staying current on merchandising updates.
- Demonstrate and communicate a keen understanding of product information, furniture construction, and design knowledge.
- Maintain knowledge and education of new products.
- Support a selling environment in all areas of the sales floor by connecting with multiple customers and sharing product suggestions.
- Builds relationships with peers; asks for support when needed and makes an effort to help others.
- See sales through to completion and follow-up with the customer as necessary.
- Ensure that products leaving the store are safely packaged and gift wrapped.
- Facilitate sales using our point-of-sale system and closing out sales orders on a daily basis.
- Restock merchandise in the showroom as necessary.
- Reply with 24 hours to client inquiries via email or phone.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & KEY ATTRIBUTES:
- Previous sales experience, preferably in a retail environment
- High-end customer service and the ability to remain graceful under pressure
- Familiarity with POS and inventory tracking systems
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Aptitude for multitasking and prioritizing tasks
- Ability to retain and communicate product knowledge
- Highly self motivated and takes initiative to provide support to team members
- Interest in product knowledge and research in the interior design industry
- Familiarity with PC/Mac platforms and strong basic computer skills
- Experience working with Interior Designers and Industry professionals preferred
- Comfortable with dynamic environments and assisting in visual merchandising, packaging / handling product and activity-based services
- Must be able to frequently lift, carry, and maneuver home furnishing merchandise and packages up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Weekend availability required

The base salary range for this position is $30 - $36/hour. Actual compensation within this range will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
