Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter specializing in Deck Building to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, and installing high-quality decks that enhance outdoor living spaces. Your expertise will contribute to creating durable, aesthetically pleasing structures that meet client specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately construct decks according to design specifications.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install deck components using hand tools and power tools with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare construction sites by framing, installing supports, and ensuring proper foundation setup using concrete forming techniques.
- Install fixtures such as railings, stairs, lighting, and other decorative or functional elements to complete the deck structure.
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling safely to transport lumber, rebar, and other building materials on-site.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and adhere to safety regulations.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the build process to ensure structural integrity and adherence to client expectations.
- The ability to become the lead carpenter on deck building projects.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in construction, deck building, and framing carpentry.
- Hands-on experience with blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and technical drawings related to deck construction.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (saws, hammers, chisels), power tools (drills, saws), and fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices and ability to work safely with heavy machinery and materials.
- Familiarity with concrete forming, rebar installation, roofing basics, siding installation, and fixture mounting is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting comfortably while maintaining safety standards; experience with metal stud framing or masonry is advantageous.
