The Powersports Set Up Technician is responsible for the uncrating, assembly, and pre-delivery inspection (PDI) of a diverse lineup of industry-leading vehicles. You will ensure that every Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Kawasaki, Slingshot, Indian Motorcycle, and Bad Boy Mower meets factory specifications and safety standards before it hits the showroom floor or goes home with a customer. This is a premier entry-level position with a clear pathway to advance into a full Line Technician / Master Certified Mechanic role within our company. Key Responsibilities
- Uncrate and Assemble: Safely unbox, uncrate, and assemble heavy machinery, including off-road vehicles (ATVs/SxSs), street motorcycles, three-wheelers, and commercial lawnmowers.
- Multi-Brand PDI: Perform thorough Pre-Delivery Inspections adhering strictly to OEM guidelines for Polaris, Can-Am, CFMoto, Kawasaki, Slingshot, Indian, and Bad Boy.
- Mechanical Setup: Install handlebars, wheels, tires, roll cages, mower decks, fairings, and factory-authorized accessories.
- Fluid and Electrical Prep: Service and fill oil, fuel, coolant, and brake fluids; charge and test battery systems.
- Quality Assurance: Test mechanical operations, steering, braking, and electrical components to guarantee absolute rider safety.
- Shop Maintenance: Maintain an organized, clean workspace and properly process or recycle heavy-duty shipping materials (wood, cardboard, metal crates).
Required Qualifications
- Tools: Must possess your own set of basic mechanic’s hand tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, etc.) suitable for daily assembly work.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Basic mechanical knowledge and a strong comfort level working with hand, air, and power tools.
- Technical Skill: Ability to read, understand, and follow factory assembly manuals and technical diagrams.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement (required for testing Indian and Kawasaki motorcycles).
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
