Duties
- Operate and monitor water treatment systems
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on treatment equipment, including pumps, filters, valves, and tanks, to prevent downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Conduct data collection and analysis to track system performance, identify trends, and troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Repair or replace mechanical components and perform heavy equipment operation for tasks such as tankers or large machinery involved in water treatment processes.
- Assist with construction projects related to plant upgrades or new installations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and technical specifications.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while managing plumbing systems, including pipe repairs or installations necessary for water flow management.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system performance logs, and compliance documentation for regulatory reporting.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills for calculations related to flow rates, chemical dosing, and system adjustments.
- Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) used in modern water treatment facilities.
- Hands-on experience with equipment repair, plumbing repairs, heavy equipment operation, and general maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes along with the ability to perform waste management procedures responsibly.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in construction environments or during equipment installation projects.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation, chemical handling, and plant maintenance.
