Sorting Supervisor - First Shift

General Summary
The purpose of the Sorting Supervisor position is to ensure all inbound customer material is accurately sorted, documented, serialized, and processed in strict accordance with customer-specific Work Instructions (WI), internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and compliance standards.
This position is responsible for managing serialization requirements, asset tracking, resale qualifications, quarantine protocols, destruction classifications, and Razor system integrity. Specific focus will be placed on data accuracy, regulatory compliance, customer contract adherence, and maintaining operational efficiency through proper material disposition controls. Accuracy, accountability, documentation integrity, and team leadership are critical to the success of this role.
Essential Job Functions
Supervise daily sorting operations in accordance with plant policies, customer requirements, and compliance standards & Routing for next steps in the operational sequence. Manage and enforce customer-specific Work Instructions (WI), including but not limited to:
- Serialization: Ensure asset serialization is completed accurately and recorded in Razor
- Parent/Child Serialization: Verify hard drive serial numbers are properly tied to parent asset serial numbers within Razor. Verify Units requiring parent child serialization are properly flagged and sent to testing with HDDs in device for parent child capture.
- Asset Tag Tracking: Ensure client asset tags are captured and logged in the designated Razor field
- Debranding: Confirm debranding is completed prior to resale authorization
- Quarantine: Place material on hold when discrepancies are discovered pending customer approval
- Sort and Settle: Oversee material segregation and proper settlement classification to order settlement needs.
- Destruction Only: Ensure material designated for destruction is not resold
- Physical Data Destruction Only: Confirm all data-bearing devices are physically destroyed per compliance standards. Remove all data bearing devices during the sort process and stage to shred, or flag them so that we can remove them in testing/deman to be shredded afterwards.
- Resale Allowed: Sort Materials for maximum value recovery.
- Parts Harvest Only: Flag whole units as no whole unit resale when moving to parts Testing.
- Ready to Price: Move qualifying orders into “Ready to Price” status (S12) within ERP
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all ERP entries related to sorting, serialization, and status changes
- Conduct quality control checks to verify compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements (R2, NAID, customer SOWs as applicable)
- Stop processing and initiate corrective action when discrepancies, data risks, or compliance concerns are identified
- Coordinate with Operations, Quality Control, Shipping, and Sales to ensure proper material flow and disposition
- Train and mentor sorting technicians on serialization standards, asset tracking requirements, and documentation procedures
- Utilize Progressive Discipline Policy as applicable
- Complete daily production, accuracy, and compliance reporting
- Manage shift scheduling, workstation assignments, and cross-training within sorting department
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce errors, increase throughput, and strengthen audit readiness
- Participate in customer audits and internal compliance reviews as required
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong understanding of asset tracking systems and ERP data entry accuracy
- Ability to interpret and enforce customer Work Instructions and Statements of Work
- High attention to detail and data integrity
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong leadership, coaching, and accountability skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ERP systems (Razor preferred)
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds frequently, stand and walk for extended periods, and work in an industrial environment
Education and Experience
- Three to five years of supervisory experience in asset processing, environment recycling, or manufacturing preferred
- Experience in electronics recycling, ITAD, serialization, or compliance-driven operations strongly preferred

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
