Job Title: Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Company: Happy Play Therapy
Location: Davie, FL 33314
Calling all playful, compassionate SLPAs ready to make a meaningful difference through connection and creativity!
At Happy Play Therapy, we believe in doing therapy differently. That means child-led sessions, neuro-affirming practices, and a sensory-friendly space where kids—and therapists—can thrive. We don’t do “compliance-based” or cookie-cutter therapy (and definitely no iPad babysitting). Instead, we focus on connection, regulation, and communication in a way that feels natural and respectful.
We’re looking for a warm, flexible, and passionate SLPA who’s excited to grow in a setting that truly values both the children we serve and the professionals who support them.
What You’ll Do:
- Carry out play-based, neurodiversity-affirming treatment plans created by a supervising SLP.
- Engage children in developmentally appropriate, movement-based, and sensory-rich therapy activities.
- Support communication goals using tools like visuals, AAC, gestures, and modeling.
- Collaborate with a team of OTs, PTs, SLPs, and support staff in a welcoming, child-centered environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and session notes in a timely, organized manner.
- Communicate with your supervising SLP regularly to review goals, progress, and adapt approaches as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- A licensed SLPA in good standing in the state of Florida (or someone who will be licensed by start date).
- Someone eager to work in pediatric settings, especially with neurodivergent children (approx. 0-12 yrs old).
- A team player who communicates well, stays organized, and can take initiative.
- An SLPA who’s curious, open-minded, and willing to unlearn outdated practices.
- A therapy assistant who believes regulation and connection come before expectations.
- Bonus points if you’re excited about AAC, sensory supports, play-based therapy, or DIR/Floortime!
Why Join Happy Play Therapy?
- We’re building a culture rooted in empathy, authenticity, and joy.
- You’ll be supported by dedicated SLP supervisors who care deeply about your growth.
- We value your ideas, your voice, and your well-being.
- Ongoing mentorship and training are part of the job because your professional journey matters.
- You’ll work in a beautiful, modern, sensory-friendly space with a team that’s fun, respectful, and genuinely kind.
Compensation & Perks:
- Pay-for-Service rate commensurate on experience.
- Part-time or full-time positions available.
- Strongly preferred: spoken Spanish and English
- Flexible schedule however, M-F 10-7pm preferred.
- All therapy takes place on-site—no travel required. Travel is optional.
- Opportunities for continued learning and growth.
- A workplace culture that feels good to be part of.
