Founded as Boulder Hospice in 1976, TRU Community Care is a nonprofit healthcare organization serving Boulder, Denver, and surrounding counties. Title: Cook
Location: Landmark Memory Care
Reports to: Life Enrichment Coordinator
Schedule: Four Day Work Week. Sun/Mon/Tues 6am-6pm and Wed 6am-12pm
Pay: $18.31 to $20.86 per hour
JOB SUMMARY:
The cook preps assigned items, including washing raw food products, peeling, dicing, shredding, cutting, and slicing food products. When prep is finished; properly label, date, rotate, and store all items. Prior to service, ensures items needed for shift are stocked and located at designated station.
- Responsible for all facets of assigned station, i.e., hot food, cold food items, dessert. Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes.
- Assists in conducting inventory, receiving, and stocking product.
- Ensures kitchen is clean and properly stocked.
- Performs additional daily cleaning assignments, including stoves, ovens, refrigerators, and storage areas according to the cleaning schedule.
- Adheres to safety and sanitary procedures set forth by management and the health department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years previous experience as a cook
- Take and pass the Food Handlers Safety course within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to work on your feet and in the standing position for an extended period.
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must successfully pass agency required background checks and drug screening.
