American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with a minimum of 1 year of experience and orthopedic caseload expertise for a critical access, Magnet-designated hospital.

Outpatient clinic setting within a critical access, Magnet-designated hospital
-
Schedule is Monday through Friday, day shift 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility available
-
No weekend or on-call requirements

No floating required within scope of this role

Uses Cerner for charting; prior experience preferred

Facility has 25 staffed beds

Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required

Current BLS certification required
-
IL state PT license required and must be active and in hand at time of application (license required if applicable)

Manual Therapy certification required; Dry Needling certification preferred

Orthopedic specialty and outpatient clinic setting experience required
-
Experience with adaptive and assistive devices, AROM/AAROM/PROM, body mechanics, pain and sensory assessment, skin integrity checks, strength testing, and vital sign monitoring required

Documentation experience required including assessments, evaluations, discharge summaries, short and long term goals, and plan of care

Experience treating orthopedic conditions such as ankle sprains, cervicalgia, DDD, DJD, frozen shoulder, gait training, hip fractures, knee injuries, low back pain, sciatica, spinal conditions, and post-op joint or spinal surgery required

Experience with post-stroke rehabilitation required

Experience with modalities such as cryotherapy, e-stim, moist heat, TENS, and ultrasound required

Experience with home exercise programs, patient/family education, and safety and injury prevention required

Billing experience with Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare A/B, Private Pay, and Workers' Compensation required

Experience with crutches, gait belts, walkers, and shoulder slings required

Must arrive in IL at least 3 business days prior to start for fingerprinting compliance

Main responsibilities include evaluating and treating outpatient orthopedic and post-stroke rehabilitation patients

Business casual attire or plain solid scrubs required

Free parking available in any unrestricted space

Open to first-time travelers

Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction

Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler

RTO ideally limited to 5 days or fewer

Candidates must work 2 of the 3 major holidays

Day 1 orientation is virtual and at-home, requiring completion of assigned modules by 4:00 PM CST
