Hilco Liquid Transport LLC is seeking a hands-on Regional Safety Manager to support safety, compliance, and training across our liquid tank transportation operations. This role serves as a key safety resource for drivers, owner-operators, employees, and operational leaders while helping maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, HAZMAT, customer, and company requirements.
Job Duties:
- Support company safety programs, regulatory compliance, audits, inspections, safety meetings, and corrective-action follow-up.
- Use telematics, ELD, in-cab camera systems, roadside inspection data, and driving history to identify risk and coach drivers.
- Respond to and investigate accidents, incidents, injuries, spills/releases, property damage, and significant near misses.
- Facilitate or support new-driver orientation, recurrent training, remedial training, LMS assignments, and safety communications.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Corporate Safety, HR, customers, and emergency responders as needed.
- Track assigned safety metrics and provide updates on safety trends, training completion, corrective actions, and open issues.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trucking safety, driver training, transportation operations, fleet management, or a related role.
- Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA, HAZMAT, and applicable OSHA requirements.
- Liquid tank and hazardous-material transportation experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills with drivers, owner-operators, employees, customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to investigate incidents, document findings, identify trends, and follow corrective actions through completion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and ability to use ELD, telematics, in-cab camera, LMS, and related fleet safety systems.
Additional requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional safety or transportation training preferred.
- CDL Class A with tanker and hazardous-material endorsements preferred but not required unless assigned duties require CMV operation.
- Must be willing and able to obtain required DOT drug and alcohol collection certification as assigned.
- Ability to obtain customer-site credentials, including TWIC where applicable.
- After-hours availability for critical safety events.
- Position may require up to 50% overnight travel throughout the assigned operating area.
- Must be able to work in outdoor, terminal, shop, roadside, and customer-site environments and perform physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working on uneven or elevated surfaces.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
