Job Summary:
The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of food items to ensure a
high-quality dining experience for guests. This role involves working in a fast-paced
environment, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, and collaborating with
the kitchen team to deliver excellent service.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Food Preparation and Cooking:
● Prepares and cooks menu items according to standardized recipes and guidelines.
● Ensures all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and presented appealingly.
● Adjust recipes and cooking methods as needed to accommodate dietary restrictions and
preferences.
● Other duties as assigned.
Quality Control:
● Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
● Regularly check the freshness and quality of ingredients, discarding any items that do not
meet standards.
● Conduct taste tests to ensure consistency and flavor.
Kitchen Operations:
● Follow established kitchen protocols and procedures to ensure efficient workflow.
● Assist in the setup and cleanup of the kitchen before and after shifts.
● Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring sufficient supplies are available for service.
● Properly store and label food items to prevent spoilage and contamination.
Food Safety and Hygiene:
● Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handwashing, cleaning,
and disinfecting practices.
● Ensure all kitchen equipment and work areas are clean and sanitized.
● Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of waste.
Collaboration and Communication:
● Work closely with other kitchen staff, including servers and kitchen assistants, to ensure
smooth operations.
● Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to coordinate orders and manage workflow.
● Provide support to team members during busy periods and assist with other tasks as needed.
