Duties
- Develop and implement dynamic curriculum plans tailored to preschool-aged children, incorporating literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori principles where applicable.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere by managing behavior effectively and promoting respectful interactions among children.
- Conduct child development assessments to monitor progress and tailor instruction to individual needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, ensuring transparency and collaborative support.
- Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to health and safety standards, including first aid and CPR certifications.
- Organize engaging activities that promote physical movement, social skills, and cognitive development aligned with childhood development best practices.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and document student progress using standardized testing tools when necessary.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management and behavior management skills.
- Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing child-centered instructional strategies across various domains such as literacy, math, and physical education.
- Knowledge of early childhood education theories including Montessori methods; familiarity with toddler care and preschool teaching is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches for children with special needs or those requiring early intervention services.
- Familiarity with childhood development milestones and best practices in childcare environments.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR; understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare.
