Pay Rate: $18.00–$24.00/hour
Position Overview:
The Vision Companies is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter / Finisher to join a growing restoration team in Ramsey, MN. This position consists of approximately 50% shop finishing work and 50% field work, performing painting, staining, finishing, and restoration services on residential and commercial properties.
The ideal candidate takes pride in producing high-quality work, has experience with painting and finishing techniques, and enjoys working in both shop and customer-facing environments. This role offers a variety of projects and opportunities to develop skills within the restoration industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Painting & Finishing
- Perform interior and exterior painting projects on residential and commercial properties
- Paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and other surfaces according to project specifications
- Complete wood staining, finishing, and refinishing projects
- Match paint colors and stain finishes to existing materials and customer requirements
- Apply paints, stains, sealers, and finishing products using proper techniques
- Ensure finished work meets quality and appearance standards
Surface Preparation
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, patching, caulking, priming, and cleaning
- Protect surrounding areas and materials before beginning work
- Repair minor surface imperfections prior to painting and finishing
- Maintain attention to detail throughout preparation and finishing processes
Restoration & Team Support
- Work alongside carpenters, restoration technicians, and project teams to complete projects on schedule
- Assist with restoration-related finishing tasks as needed
- Follow project timelines and quality expectations
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding project progress
Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites
- Keep shop areas clean and properly maintained
- Follow all company safety procedures and restoration industry standards
- Properly maintain tools, equipment, and materials
Qualifications:
Required
- Previous painting and finishing experience
- Ability to perform interior and exterior painting work
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to match paint colors and stain finishes
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Experience with wood staining, finishing, and refinishing
- Restoration industry experience
- Residential and commercial painting experience
- Bilingual Spanish skills
