Job Summary:
The Hotel Housekeeping Executive is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities in accordance with the hotel's standards of service and quality. This role involves managing the housekeeping staff, ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards, and providing exceptional guest experiences through attention to detail and effective leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants and public area cleaners.
- Conduct training sessions for new employees and ongoing training for existing staff to maintain high standards of cleanliness and service.
- Schedule staff shifts, manage workload distribution, and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet hotel standards for cleanliness and presentation.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for cleaning and maintenance.
- Address any issues or concerns regarding cleanliness or maintenance promptly.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage housekeeping inventory, including cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment, to ensure sufficient stock levels and minimize waste.
- Prepare and manage the housekeeping budget, keeping track of expenses and making necessary adjustments.
- Guest Interaction:
- Liaise with front office and maintenance departments to address guest requests and complaints regarding housekeeping services.
- Provide excellent customer service and engage with guests to enhance their experience at the hotel.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols within the housekeeping department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in hospitality management is a plus.
- Proven experience in a housekeeping supervisory role, preferably in the hotel industry.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Capability to perform tasks in various indoor and outdoor environments
