Job Title: Quality Inspector
Reports To: Quality Manager
Schedule: Swing Shift: Monday through Thursday from 2:00pm to 12:00am
Salary: Depends on experience and skill set ~ Professional level experience will offer competitive compensation
Summary
A Quality Inspector is responsible for the overall quality of the completed machined and fabricated aerospace and commercial grade parts, with the associated documents. This critical position requires the individual's complete attention to detail relating to all aspects of CVM projects. Inspectors are required to be involved in CVM projects prior to build, building process, and upon completion.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets engineering drawings, blue prints, and associated notes
- Perform dimensional inspection of machined and fabricated parts including in-process inspection, first article, and final inspections
- Utilizes hand inspection tools and report/document results
- Create inspection document packages; inspection reports, material and process certifications and hardware certifications
- Stores completed job related documents
- Perform quality planning functions including contract reviews and generation of inspection reports
- Regular interaction with CVM machinists, project managers, customers, and vendors
Skills & Attributes
- Proficient in reading and interpreting customer engineering drawings and associated notes
- Proficient in reading and interpreting customer contracts
- Must have an understanding and working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing basics
- Must have experience in using coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
- Must have good comprehension skills
- Must have basic math skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lift approx. 50 - 75 LBS
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of two years of previous experience in the machining field
- Minimum of two years of previous experience using coordinate measuring equipment
- Minimum of two years of inspection hand tools and equipment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
